A Modern Bath Can be yours for a FRACTION of the cost of remodeling.

PORCEGLAZE is a system for resurfacing your old and out-dated bathtubs, ceramic tiles, vitreous china and sinks without removing them from their present position in your home, office, factory, etc. PORCEGLAZE is a polymerized resinous compound film whose slow flow-out time gives it that factory finish look. For repairs our exclusive method of preparing your substrate surface assures you a positive bond. Once your tub, tiles and fixtures have been PORCEGLAZED you can expect years of satisfactory service.

Low COST

No need to remove bathtub, wall tiles and plumbing. Eliminates the mess of rebuilding and replacing bathroom fixtures and hardware. PORCEGLAZING is done on location in hours, instead of days or weeks with SAVINGS of $1,500 or more.

TRUE VALUE

Your existing fixtures are a better value today...whether they have a classic look or are modern in design. Now you may retain the fine workmanship of the past, with a modern day color scheme. PORCEGLAZE gives you the opportunity to resurface not only your bathtub and sink, but also ceramic tiles for a completely updated decor.

DURABLE

PORCEGLAZE is stain, acid, alkaline, solvent and abrasion resistant, and has been formulated to resist temperature extremes (thermal shock).

PORCEGLAZE vs. A New Bathtub Installation

Keep one thing in mind. A bathtub is placed in a bathroom during rough framing. Walls are opened, plumbing exposed, no toilet or sink in the way, and the doorway opened enough to drive a car through, and the house is not occupied.

Some Questions and Answers About PORCEGLAZE

WHAT IS PORCEGLAZE?

PORCEGLAZE is a refinishing process consisting of multiple steps, from preparation of the substrate to application of materials. During the preparation cycle, the substrate is chemically cleaned and de-glossed with a special controlled acid, and then neutralized. A base conditioner is applied to the prepared substrate to insure a positive cavitation bond. Four (4) coats of a base primer are applied. Three (3) coats of selected color top coat are applied over the base primer. [Note: we do not heat our materials or the substrate we are resurfacing. Our materials are formulated to cure at substrate temperature. This gives the finish maximum durability, adhesion, gloss retention and color stability.] PORCEGLAZE top coat is NOT AN EPOXY, but a special formula of polymer resin acrylic compounds, which form a durable polymerized film.

WHY NOT EPOXY:

Epoxy itself will not resist abrasion. Epoxies can delaminate through thermal shock and do not have good gloss retention or color stability. Epoxies do chalk in time, causing foreign materials to adhere, making cleaning more difficult.

HOW IS PORCEGLAZE APPLIED?

The base primer and top coat are applied with a specially designed HVLP sprayer. When using our HVLP sprayer we are putting 97% material on the substrate. Using a conventional air spray system, 30% of the materials would be spraying on the substrate and 70% becomes airborne (over spray).

IS THERE A MESS?

NO! We put on a minimum 9 inch masking around the bathtub area to be protected and, using an HVLP system, the 3% overspray that takes place is exhausted thru our air filtration system. Any fumes are vented out for your comfort.

HOW LONG WILL IT LAST?

If the PORCEGLAZE substrate is maintained in accordance with our instructions and guarantee, our customers have related ten (10) to twelve (12) year life spans or longer for bathtubs with normal usage. Guest tubs or tubs with minimal usage can have lifespans of 15-25 years.

IS IT REPAIRABLE?

YES! It can be spot repaired.

WHAT CAN BE PORCEGLAZED?

Worn and new porcelain bathtubs and sinks. Enamel and steel bathtubs and sinks, Vitreous china, ceramic wall tiles, fiberglass, stainless steel, terrazzo, and aluminum.

WHERE IS PORCEGLAZE BEING USED?

Hotels, Motels, Inns, Hospitals, Municipal Housing Projects, Condos, New and Old Homes.

HOW LONG HAS PORCEGLAZE BEEN USED?

Since 1971 over 15,000 bathtubs and 4000 bathroom sinks and over 250,000 square feet of ceramic tiles have been PORCEGLAZED as of June 1, 2004.

DO I, THE OWNER, HAVE TO DO ANYTHING PRIOR TO OR AFTER PORCEGLAZING?

YES! It Is the responsibility of the homeowner to strip the bathroom of shower and window curtains, rugs, towels, shower doors, and remove any loose items or toiletries from bathroom surfaces. After 48 hours the homeowner will be able to replace the drain, overflow hardware, shower doors, and recaulk the tub.  Also window curtains, rugs and towels can be returned to the bathroom at that time.
